If you want to learn how to do a pistol squat this one is for you. Or if you attend a group fitness class like CrossFit and it has a pistol squat programmed, then you may choose any of these easier options to substitute for that portion of the workout. Over time you will build strength and will be able to advance to the next option. Doing single-leg work can be really eye-opening in terms of how different our bodies can be from side to side. Personally I notice a big difference in my ability to do a pistol from right leg to left leg. One of my ankles has a much better range of motion than the other which makes it easier to do a single leg squat on that leg. It can help us identify areas we need to work on.

Real deal on adding the weight! Got a big bootie so that one is very difficult for me even with the weight. My hips are extremely mobile but my legs are strong asim a former gymnast. Vault was always my fave.๐Ÿ˜…
Here's a fun one. I call it a modified dragon squad. It's half between a curtsy and dragon squat. Do a curtsy, but keep the back foot pointed, sliding it under, rotate 45 degrees toward the front, rather than the 90 degrees needed for the dragon squat. I'm able to do this keeping only the back foot toes on the ground rn and do the full squat that way. Kinda blew my pain management doctor's mind with it. His face... ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean he told me to do strengthening exercises. Meanwhile, standing a long time and long shopping trips kill me l
