Being unhappy with an initial recording of the track, Ray wanted to re-record, with the lead guitar being covered by heavy reverb, but the record company refused. When Ray threatened to not perform or promote the song if the initial version was released, the band’s managers had to pay the £200 themselves to pay for the additional recording
