Well I wouldn't really call it powered flight at that point. If you have a battery/alternator failure you can expect your engine to die from the spark plugs not getting power to spark and ignite your fuel. On top of that any electronic gauges and sensors will cease to function. Any lights you have will go off (better eat your carrots😉), and if you don't have manual flaps or landing gear they will locked up with no way to bring them down. At that point you have a glorified glider and I pray God has mercy on all souls on board your deathtrap with wings

Yes! The engine driven magnetos will continue to provide electrical power to the spark plugs. Allowing the engine to operate normally as long as there's fuel in the tanks.
