Always fascinating to find fossils like these which give us an idea of the evolution of today's well known animals 😁

I wonder if they were already bats in the late Mesozoic around the same time the biggest Tyrannosaurus species evolved?

I wonder if bats will one day replace birds as the masters of the air. Birds eventually replace the flying reptiles known as the pterosaurs so it's possible that may be millions of years from now Birds could be replaced by bats. Assuming that bats will not go extinct that is. And the concept of future bat species being the size of pteranodon would be interesting and scary at the same time to think about.

Incredible fossil! The tail is fascinating .
"Automatically the most primitive bat we know of"
Yet only 52 million years old.. "early evolution of these animals".
Crazy to think In terms of time, this bat was once the pinnacle of evolution for it's species..
I suppose every living creature is always the most modern advanced version of its kind for it's time.. and environment.
