REAL LIFE TALK! I remember the first time I drew my pistol (from concealment) & I looked like I was High-Stepping while throwing out my shoulder. I got on target; but I knew I’d be practicing from the next few weeks.

Also, it is not a talisman to ward off evil. If you do not want to use it or can't, then don't carry. I do not mean look for a fight, but when trouble comes to you and yours and you didn't train, not only how to use it, but when to use it. You are more of a danger to others because the bad guy at that point has already committed to using it.

💯. Agree. I know some that have firearms and just Do Not. Practice or train. Up in the closet. Can't do that. Especially like you said. Buy and just carry. No training, no practice. Yes! Is ammo expensive. Yea. This why you gotta change up some things in life to afford to at least shoot 50 rounds with carry pistol/home defense pistol. I suck it up and took on a part time job to pay for ammo to train. I've been doing that since December 2022. Lol!!!! My ass dam sure, been thru some ammo. ONLY WAY, Your going to get better

Can't argue with your advice, the problem I see is a total society's willingness to embrace the gun culture, if we had that kid's would be offered Gun ED as is drivers ED, people would be taught gun fundamentals through out life , Think about it we as a nation could be a hard core nobody would even think of kicking our ass's if everyone was on board , as for here and criminals that's a different matter but if more good people could shoot straight there might be fewer criminals? My point is training is very difficult for many, you know this, but will we every reach total gun saturation and a wide spread gun culture with fewer gun owners?
As a Fire Captain I served for years ago would say (He was a combat LT. in Vietnam) "GDmit! More gun's and less comb's!" I have no clue what the hell he was talking about but he said it when SWHTF at big fire's., Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

Perhaps some basic prerequisite training could be mandatory, so that the public knows random shots hitting innocents won’t happen? Or is that mandatory training considered a violation of constitutional rights? I think we can now see how crazy this world is.

If a person who is firing carelessly should hit a non combatant, there is not an attorney in the country that can save that person from going to jail, losing his or her 2nd Amendment right, but worst of all living with the regret of hitting an innocent bystander.
