This is pre Slippi, where the only practice anyone got was with their region and mostly just locals. The gap between M2K and his pools opponents was so massive we will never see something like it again, everyone getting good now and fast.

I got to play M2k in bracket at a local tournament in 2012
He 4 stocked me on FD in a MarthvMarth, but I'm pretty sure I surprised him by taking 2 stocks in game 2 on Yoshi's. It's my biggest accomplishment in my olden Melee days
I got 6 stocked by M2k instead of 8 stocked 😅

Not just for 0-2ers. I made it out of pools at Smashtality 2 in 2006 going 6-2 in sets. Fought M2K in first round of final bracket for him to ask me who I want him to play. He Mained Fox back then so I said Fox and he 4 stocked me. Then he went Pichu and 2 stocked me. Was a blast

So i once saw a thing with westballz i think he destroyed someone with Dk back when Dk was real bad. When asked why he would bm like that he said that playing his main falco would destroy them so badly they would get upset and quit the game. So he decided to play low tiers against newbies to spare their feelings .

I played against Mew2King in Smash 4 at the warmup tables. He wiped the floor woth me. Every time you think you have a chance to punish or recover, he shuts you down. Thw pros are no joke.
