I woke from a dream one year that I wouldn’t be able to hear my grandpa’s voice so I started recording him. Got 143 of our daily conversation recorded before he finally passed away a day before my wedding. I had moved to Canada to start my life and he was finishing his days in California. We were best friends. I also have a photo of him waving to me in his home from when I got a new camera. I wave to it and say, “hey, grandpa!”
Trust your intuition whe it comes to loved one’s leaving. You may be able to capture some fantastic memories before they go. I miss the sound of the shuffling of his feet, though. Never got a chance to record that, I don’t think.

Nothing in life prepares us for the heartbreak of saying goodbye to our parents that last time. My dad is still here, but not a day goes by that I don’t long to talk to my mom again. I miss her sooo much, so if your parents are still here, hug them as much as you possibly can! ❤️🩹
