The whole point of the Scott Pilgrim story is that people are shitty, and you'll never stop being shitty if you never stop to realize you are shitty and try to improve yourself, Scott realizes this and by the end he's a better person, Ramona avoids it for most of the story and only tries to improve by the end

The bigger question is: Will they make each other better people- or just become more terrible people? The series actually answers this as Future Scott had been married to Ramona for 15 years. And after one "I need some space" fight, Scott goes back in time to prevent their entire relationship from ever happening. Then spends another 10 years training to kill everyone from his past who could have saved their relationship. Not to mention that he remains as a man-child mooching off of Wallace's generosity. So it's safe to say that Scott actually ended up as an even worse person in the future while married to Ramona.

Id always loved the idea of there being a secret 10th ex that gets hyped up as some complet bada** that has already beaten the oth exes only to reveal that not only is he actually a really nice and chill dude but that he actually broke up with remona himself because after he unwillingly beat the exes was only then did she think he was worth it, not him actually trying to be a good partner and bf but instead after he beat up other people for no real reason, and recommens to Scott to get out while he can.
