You know, when I was going through my military training, they made a big deal about how much my training cost, especially the language school I went through (I'm a linguist). They said it costs about 100,000 dollars in tax payer money PER STUDENT. And for about 3500 students at the Defence Language Institute, that's about 350 million dollars in tax payer money to train all the new linguists every year, so it's definitely not something to be taken lightly.
But what is this nonsense? Why does one trip for 2 days, maybe a week at most, cost as much as it does to train 3.5 linguists for the military?
What? Was the 10% for the big man not enough to pay for a plane ticket home? 🤨
