Actually that was Kevin Feige demonstrating he doesn't understand the comics and should have been fired lone before now.
Making Agents of SHIELD no longer relating to the MCU is where he failed.
Use that Kreebased formula to introduce Carol Danvers, have her become Ms Marvel and THEN go with his movie so the exploding drive supercharges her existing powers and then have her kidnapped and brainwashed.
Use her introduction in AoS to allow Carol to get her head out of her backside and actually develop her character properly something she hasn't done because Feige doesn't understand this!
