Old walkers were frightening and weird, agree with Matt's take on that one.
Story is what it is now, no books, no real focus on a cohesive path is fine, as long as they print interesting cards I'm good to keep playing.

I enjoyed the story up to phyrexia all will be one. They really screwed up after that tho.
The story line with Nichole bolas was great. The old storylines like yall said are amazing.
And they have way too much untapped potential in the eldrazi. And I would love a set dedicated to teaching us what the eldrazi are. Like a set where the story of it is basicly us reading ugins journal or him recounting his interaction with the eldrazi. I would also like the same thing for the phyrexians and the thran. We could get one about slivers too. There is a lot of potential here.
But at the end of the day the story being visible on the cards in neon dynasty are what got me to stick with magic

I just got into magic and that thing about planeswalkers sounds amazing, why would they ever change that? I had no idea there was a story there.

Still kinda disapointed they don't do "Blocks" anymore.
When I first stopped playing Magic, they still had Blocks with a Continous Story per Plane visited. I remember reading devouring the Books for Mirrodin, Kamigawa and Ravnica!

I feel exactly the same I used to be invested in the storyline especially when the fat packs came with the story written in paperback. Now they are just invested in milking the MTG cashciw and throwing out stories of ai quality.

I care about the story and it's bad. Get it together. For real. There is zero direction it feels. Like are we chasing after Jace? Are we following Loot? Are we following Kellan an Oko? Are we following Tezzeret's schemes? Why have the Omen Path when we're in space now?

after the pushed out the end of the 30 year phyrexian story arc so they could keep pumping and dumping universe beyond sets seemed to really be the death knell of anyone at WOTC carrying about the lore what so ever.

Planeswalker was way too OP. Basically omnipotent. Too much power. Redo of the spark is great. They need another bolas/phyrexia/eldrazi big bad villain to affect the multiverse
