How does it stack up against David F. Wells three-volume Reformed Theology in America, Baker Book House, 1989? The three volumes cover Princeton, Dutch, and Southern varieties, each having an overview of that particular strain. Princeton showcases details about Hodge, Warfield, and Machen. Southern hones in on Dabney and Thornwell. Dutch explains Kuyper, Berkhof, Dooyeweerd, and finally Cornelius Van Til.
What struck me was how the tradition sees ācovenantā everywhere, is highly philosophical, and isnāt overly concerned with what the Scriptures have to offer.
