I was like, yeah, yeah, sounds good, and then Keith BAKER and BAKER'S DOZEN! I don't think I can handle this

This little bit of info just inspired a whole campaign, I'm really excited to explore this, thank you!

the mark of death trilogy is a great introduction into the world of Eberron and it's what got me hooked on the setting and it explains how the mark of death was taken away and how it came back

Some more trivia to go along with this:
- Dal Quor, the missing plane, was knocked out of planar orbit by the giants during a war with the quori. As part of the ritual to do this, they did.... something.... to Cyra, the moon that was previously linked to Dal Quor (each of the moons in Eberron is keyed to one of the Outer Planes).
- Going along with the above, at the dark, nightmare infested core of Dal Quor, the moon Cyra can be seen. Whether it was physically transported there or if it's just the plane itself dreaming of its lost moon is unknown.
- At the bottom of Eberron's seas lie the 12 karlassa, miles long sea serpents that are impervious to any damage and regenerate what little damage they do take immediately. Each one is a powerful manifest zone to one of the Outer Planes, with Dal Quor being the one without a corresponding karlassa (insert theory about the giants killing it here). Interestingly enough, when mortals sleep within 13 miles of a karlassa, they dream not in Dal Quor, as they usually would, but in the plane associated with said karlassa. That said, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that any player characters would know that, as most of the karlassa are claimed by the sahuagin nation known as the Eternal Dominion, and they only permit outsiders to visit the city centered around the karlassa tied to Syrania (which functions as both the Plane of Air and the plane of pacifism). Only the karlassa tied to Xoriat (Lovecraft world), Mabar (the Eternal Night), Thelanis (the Faerie Court), and Risia (the Plane of Ice) are shunned by the Dominion.
- When the alliance of Dragonmarked Houses was created, it was called the Twelve despite them not having that many members in the belief that more dragonmarks would be discovered. Given that the Mark of Death had already been genocided, it would seem that the significance of 13 minus 1 is known to sages of the Eberron setting. Much like how hags have their Rule of Three.
- During the Last War, House Cannith built 12 Gunda, er, Warforged Colossuses, semi sentient giant warforged that require a team of pilots to operate. They were in the middle of building the 13th when the Day of Mourning hit.
- On the Outer Plane of Daanvi, the Perfect Order, the Panopticon is home of 12 solars, each of whom monitors one of the Outer Planes. While seated in their throne, they are omniscient within their assigned plane. Occasionally, they can be called upon (but only if proper procedures are followed) to enforce cosmic law within their assigned Outer Plane. Dal Quor (seriously, giants?) used to have a solar assigned to them, but he was summoned to Dal Quor the last time that plane went through one of its occasional Turning of the Ages, and hasn't been seen since. Since immortals respawn in their home dimension if they die, this raises questions.

Correction, 1 one of the moons did not vanish. It was destroyed by a super weapon created by the giants during the Age of Giants in Xen'drik to end the war between the giants and quori, the moon was destroyed because it connected Dal Quor (the plane of dreams) to the material plane, which was the quori's home plane, now they're direct connection to the material plane is shattered and inconsistent. The weapon shattered Xen'drik causing it to become what it looks like and what it behaves like now. Then, I believe during then elven uprising (elves where enslaved by the giants) the giants threatened to use it again against the elves but they were stopped by the dragons of Argonesson thus starting the Giant and Dragon war, which during this time allowed the elves to escape Xen'drik towards Aerenal and outwards from there. Notably, many many Drow remained in Xen'drik.

Awesome video! I suggest looking into the mystery of the Black obelisks in Faerun placed in almost all the adventures in 5e. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

There is also the 13 -1 +1 weird/difference @ aberrant marks, the original Dwarven kingdom, the material plane

The Mark of Death isn’t quite gone. Never tell Lady Illmarrow it was destroyed. There’s a mad ancient black dragon in Khorvaire that happened to once be a general in the dragon army led by Siberys. Yup RhaShaak is a good guy

And Cyre 1313! The doomed lightning rail that waited too long for ONE vip and was destroyed in the mourning...
|
Awesome video! I never noticed how many things therw are 13 of in Eberron. I just want to point out that Cyre is pronounced "sire" like the old english way they said and spelled "sir"
