Sometimes it feels like everyone has it figured out except for you 🫠 but is it actually the case? Here’re the things I couldn’t do:
1. “Bounce back” overnight after kids.
My abs left the group chat, but I found strength in other places (like my boundaries).
2. Be everything, everywhere, all the time.
I rest. I don’t chase burnout for validation anymore.
3. Pretend like I don’t miss who I used to be.
But I also deeply love who I’ve become.
4. Say yes when my soul says no.
No is a full sentence, and I use it with grace now.
5. Enjoy every moment of motherhood.
I love my kids, but no, I didn’t “cherish” every 3 a.m. diaper blowout.
6. Keep my cool 100% of the time.
I meditate, I journal — and sometimes, I yell.
7. Keep up with every trend.
Gen Z can have the middle parts and cargo pants. I’ll be over here in peace.
8. Ignore my own needs.
I used to think self-care was selfish. Now I see it as survival.
9. Pretend money solves everything.
It makes life easier — yes. But happiness, peace, love? That’s built, not bought.
10. Figure out what “balance” actually means.
Some days I crush work and forget to drink water. Other days I cuddle my kids and forget my inbox exists. Is that balance?
11. Look “effortless.”
It took me 3 outfit changes, a full face, and a pep talk just to leave the house today. So no, it’s not “just good genes.”
