Where I live they call this a UPGRADE. In fact it cost me $5K to do this to my F350 Powerstroke.

My dealership told me not to do the recall. He said my mileage would go down and I would loose power. He also said the aim of the EPA is to bring those trucks into compliance with California emissions regardless of where you live.

It is too bad that doing anything responsible about the air we breathe hurts fuel efficiency. Cheating people about what they're buying is just fine with some people if it means they can lie to themselves that their powerful engines aren't polluting as much as they are. Eye roll

Lot's of unneeded and unwanted stuff put on engines that makes most less efficient and more polluting especially if you do lots of short journeys. Having to drive in a low gear revving the engine to get the DPF to regenerate.
