Just paying off all your EMIs doesn’t make the car fully yours. When you finance a car through the bank, the bank’s name is listed on your RC (Registration Certificate). 📝
It’s important to get the bank’s name removed from your RC. Here’s what you need to do after paying off your car loan:
First, visit the bank and collect the NOC (No Objection Certificate) and Form 35. 🏦
Then, take copies of your PAN card, Aadhaar card, Insurance, PUC (Pollution Under Control), and your original RC, and submit them at the RTO (Regional Transport Office). 📄
In a few days, a new RC will be delivered to your home, without the bank’s name. 🏠✨
Additionally, submit a copy of the NOC to your insurance company as well. Why?
Because if your car gets into a total loss, the insurance money will go to the bank, not you, if their name is still on your RC! 🚨💸
And then, you’ll have to deal with the bank. 😬
