xbox controllers break easier now, here's why..

Xbox controller are getting lower in quality as the years go on. I found an article from iFixit showing some comparisons of the Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X Controllers and there is a lot of evidence of Microsoft reducing the quality of the joysticks in newer model Xbox Controllers.
I keep making a point of how bad the build quality is because most 3rd party companies are using hall effect sensors in their joysticks now, and Microsoft is still happy to keep using inferior parts. Hopefully my videos and the other great YouTubers bringing light to this issue will help the push for better gaming industry standards.

How long do your controllers last on average?

There are some PS3 controllers with Hall effect sensors that can never drift. If you open up a PS3 controller and there are 4 pins connecting to the component on the side if the analog stick, then it is a Hall effect sensor. If their are 3 pins it is just a regular potentiometer controller, though I’m yet to find a drifting PS3 controller anyway. They really were built different back then.

There needs to be a huge class action lawsuit on MS, Sony, & Nintendo for knowingly doing all this shit

Worst part is that gamers put up with this while calling MS pro consumer for selling parts to allow you to fix what they purposely made low quality & with an insulting 90 day warranty in America.

My OG Xbox one S controller lasted me from 2016-2023 before getting so annoying I rebuilt it (thanks to your channel ngl) I blew it all apart, cleaned it out and replaced these sensors and my sticks and noticed very different design from the factory (crappy) ones and the new ones I tossed in

This is so necessary because they can give us controllers that don’t get stick drift. But that would kill their ability to make money after taking a loss on the consoles in the first couple years.

Still have my 360 controllers from 2006 that run like a dream. I had my Xbox one for 6 months and the LB just stopped clicking- like what the fuck- not only that but apparently the LT and RT don’t even register as buttons. What the fuck-

Was wondering why my controller has already started to drift heavily barely a YEAR in its life, my Switch Pro Controller has been around since 2017-ish and it's fully functional, i plan on buying one of those 8bitdo xbox controllers since their quality is superb, thanks for sharing this!

The sticks used to be made by alps electric (ask any vintage keyboard guy and they will gush about em) so im assuming the alps potentiometers were pretty dang good (i have a chrome 360 controller ive used since around 2008-2009 and it still is going strong)

Hey Mick,

I've got a little problem with my Gulikit Controller...

The RT actions are executed even if the key isnt presses. In XInput its constantly on 255, is there a way to fix it? I've tried recalibrating and updating but no change
