মির্জা জহিরউদ্দিন মুহাম্মদ বাবর ছিলেন মধ্য এশিয়ার একজন বিখ্যাত মুসলিম সম্রাট এবং মুঘল সাম্রাজের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা। তিনি সাধারণত বাবর নামেই অধিক পরিচিত। ১৪৮৩ সালের ১৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি তিনি বর্তমান উজবেকিস্তানে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন এবং ১৫৩০ সালের ২৬ ডিসেম্বর তিনি মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। তিনি তৈমুর লঙ্গের ষষ্ঠ বংশধর ছিলেন।
