Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo is known as the busiest crossing in Tokyo. It is NEVER empty even at wee hours. So when Alice in Borderland showed an empty Shibuya Crossing, I wondered how they did it. It was ony later that I found out it was shot in a large outdoor set of their studio.

Ryohei Arisu was an obsessed gamer who went to meet his friends in Shibuya after he was scolded by his dad for playing instead of paying attention to his studies. They goofed around Shibuya Scramble Crossing, then run towards the bathroom of a train station. When they came out, they were shocked to find the streets of Shibuya empty. Somebody emptied it for them to compete against one another to survive!

Alice in Borderland was released on December 10, 2020.

Did you know that Shibuya Crossing is NEVER empty? Yes!!! The city in Japan that never sleeps... I thought that they really shot this in Shibuya. So I wondered, how did they make people disappear? Later, I read somewhere that they did it in the studio. They built a replica of the city. ❤❤❤
