At first I was really confused why fluid would go to our heads specifically, then I realized our bodies probably have stronger ways of moving things up than down to compensate for gravity. Makes more sense now

I have hydrocephalus, essentially a water balloon head. I can tell you what the effects are: long-term memory problems, concentration and vision problems. If it gets bad enough, coma, and death.

First few seconds: šŸ˜„
ā€œThen you remember that thatā€™s also happening in their bodiesā€¦ā€

Good god imagine being sick in anti-gravity.

They'll have to start perscribing centrifuge trips every couple weeks up in space

So enough time in space you will begin to look like a stereotypical alien.

My bones felt uncomfortable when you said "that's going on inside the astronaut as well"

BRUH my roommate was watching this with me and asked why can't the astronauts just hang upside down for some time...
I am still struggling to get them to understand that there's no "up" or "down" in that shuttle šŸ˜

Man wasnā€™t built to be in space for extended periods

We often forget how much we evolved based on earth's gravity.

Itā€™s in principle possible to equip ISS with centrifuged interior spaces, or even redesign it from scratch to be spinning while in orbit to simulate ā€œcentrifugal gravityā€.

I'm concerned about the side effects Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore must be facing in space rn. Praying they both return home safely.

I hear people claim that we're so close to interstellar colonies, but I really don't think they're aware of the complexity that delay it, or the consequences if we tried to soon.

And thatā€™s why they need a rotating station like in 2001

I wonder if they get more acid reflux? The stomach acid is floating around, too!

I had an entire chapter in my Physiology exam about the effects of Zero Gravity.

I don't know how many astronauts they expect I will have as patients, but it was likely there to make sure you understood all those topics in people on earth.
