Focus on the characters first and then the story. Isn't that how we got the ST and Kenobi? It's a recipe for disaster.
How did Favreau say he came up with the Mandalorian? He went back to find out what originally inspired Star Wars. He looked at the stories that inspired George and developed his own ideas from there. He didn't say, I want to write a story about a Mandalorian and a little green version of Yoda, now, what am I going to have them do?
I understand they want to dissect Star Wars to see what makes it work. That's fine, but they keep dissecting the wrong thing. They only look at the characters and tangible things in the movies, and completely ignore the story that brings those characters together and makes them who they are. Iger asks who the most popular characters are and just stops at that point, when he should go on to ask WHY are those characters so popular. This is why he fails and this is why this new endeavor will fail.

My opinion Mandoverse is true Sequels and they bring Thrawn Trilogy (Mara Jade, Jason, Ben , maybe daisy Ridley but Alter Rey who Padawan of Luke and Mara Jade or Daughter like legends material) Business best profit way for future is retcon sequels or alter what Filoni and Favreau do with Grogu and Ashoka and move forward to new good Story (maybe with daisy Ridley but new character ). (Use Worlds or Force Vision of Luke Dark Future Skywalkers best ability )
