I keep my mouth shut whenever I feel upset. I think all my crazy thoughts to myself and when I’m in a calmer mood I explain my thoughts to my spouse and things get fixed smoothly.

Simple concept. Win-win-win. Husband-wife-children. Easy to implement. No downside at all.

Oof, ouch! Thats rough coming home from a long day only to be met with a look of disgust :😢
My marriage has been really rocky lately and sometimes im tempted to feel this way about my husband. But then i remind myself he works 12 hour shifts 5-6 days a week at a hellish factory and deserves, at the very least, to come home to peace and respite. He works hard for our family and no matter what im dealinf with in my marriage im always grateful what he puts himself through for us

If only more people would consider their affect and indifference the world would be nicer.

I would like to see more people do a course before getting married. The experience of thinking through different stages and the desired destination will go a long way to being able to figure things out together

Some people are their own worst enemy and aren’t necessarily nice but always blaming accusatory we can try doesn’t mean the person will stop the negative behavior we can only change our own attitude and behavior ❤thank you rabbi Friedman

This works if the wounds aren’t too deep. Maintaining a look of compassion or just being cheerful can be very difficult when triggers or bad memories come up. Being Pollyanna in the face of all circumstances only goes so far if deep soul cutting wounds never get a chance to heal. That’s when counseling can help. Being kind is a good step in the right direction though. It brings hope and faith to weighty, life draining situations.

Good luck to the wife where it is the other way around. You can not make someone a good natured, stable person who comes home every time or ever, happy to see you no matter what you do. But you can deflect their negativity with patience, compassion and kindness.
