For those who don't know the difference:
Parmesan is the same type of cheese but not made in Italy.
Some guy on youtube tested it: Italian stuff is always top quality but also the most expensive.
But there's not much difference in taste if it is 20+ months aged parmesan.
Less aged cheese is significantly inferior.
Though still passable for more complex dishes because other ingredients mask the difference.
Don't use cheap sh*t called 'pasta topping".
The difference is very obvious with pasta.

I also found out about the "Forte" cheese by Valio. It's made in Estonia.
There is a 20-month variety, and I was surprised how much it has similar taste and texture to Parmegiano. Try it if you can find it, you won't regret it

In Europe you can't legally sell anything branded as 'parmesan' if it's not parmiggiano reggiano.
