Hundreds of sicarios from the Sinaloa Cartel defeated the Mexican military in the Battle of Culiacán, also known as "Culiacanazo"...

Soldiers entered a house in Culiacán, Sinaloa, with the intent to arrest Ovidio Guzmán López, also known as "The Mouse," one of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán's sons, famously known as the Chapitos.

After apprehending him, the convoy proceeded to the military battalion.

However, nearly a thousand sicarios besieged the city, blocking roads, setting vehicles ablaze, and resorting to gunfire while threatening the lives of all military personnel stationed at the battalion where "The Mouse" was held.

To prevent a bloodbath, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador issued orders for his soldiers to release Ovidio Guzmán.
