So when designing this project, I had a few choices to make. Bright colors are better suited to a light primer, and dark colors to a dark primer - and I had both. The wall was already primed with white so I chose to keep that and brush on the dark background, knowing I’d have to add extra layers to get it opaque in the end. And it ended up taking more time than I thought but I just had to deal with it and come in earlier/leave later - and that’s on me. But if I had to do it over, I think I would roll on the background color to have a quicker and easier time getting the opacity I want, and then transfer my design, and THEN paint all the inner shapes and patterns.
Every job involves some sort of new learning experience and I’m grateful for every single one, and just wanted to share my thought process with y’all as it’s hard to fit everything in in a 60 second video:) Hope you enjoy and lmk if you have any questions about muraling!
P.S. For the transfer method, I couldn’t use a project because you can’t project a flat image onto a curved wall, it gets utterly skewed. So we had to do it an old fashioned way and print it out to scale using architecture prints from FedEx, drawing the reverse design in graphite (I used graphite chunks from Michaels) on the back, taping it up to the wall, and transferring by using pressure - I traced all the lines with the backside of a medium Posca pe
