I never knew I was pregnant, my biggest fear when I was giving birth. When I found out I was pregnant was all the x-rays that I had because I was diagnosed with double pneumonia. I also was on some very dangerous prescribe medication for a fetus, and I gave birth to a 6 lbs. 13 oz. 20 inch long, baby boy that was exceptionally healthy only by the grace of God, with everything that I went through while carrying him, he shouldāve been a basket case. I had no belly, I had no symptoms, I never knew I was pregnant until the day I was giving birth.

Dude medicine is crazy. My ultrasound tech at 36 weeks thought she saw a chest hernia and my doctor dismissed it thinking it was just her overreacting to a shadow. But she said,āwe can schedule an appointment with specialists later this week just to be safeā. I have a rare form of anemia that requires blood transfusions so I was seeing that specialist the same day anyway. They confirmed it that same day and within a week I was talking to her surgeons about her NICU stay. It was worse than they thought, but after surgery she healed within a month and is now thriving with a gimp lung. They even have a zoo day for all the NICU parents from her being in the hospital.

I have a friend who found out at 36 weeks. She was on both control and appeared to have periods still. When she went to the doctor the doctor wasn't sure what caused her sudden weight gain either. Pregnancy test didn't come up positive and the kid was hidden on the ultrasound. The doctor thought she had a tumor! They figured it out eventually but she had to go to more than one doctor.

Why are people so harsh and judgemental towards these women. It's so easy to Google this information before pointing fingers. I've had two kids and I can say I was experiencing a lot of symptoms similar to pregnancy symptoms as a teenager. I was even having cramps that were and still are just like labor pain. So far they say it's IBS but possibly Crohn's. I was feeling that though before I ever had a child. However I didn't even have labor pain with either child until labor was induced. Then I found out that those cramp pains were exactly like labor pain. Later on I found that gas and other things moving in my bowel feel just like a baby moving. When I was sexually active, I did pregnancy tests often because my illnesses make me have all the symptoms. I can definitely see others not knowing they are pregnant. I wish more people could be more supportive even if they doubt it is true. I personally know how awful it can be to deal with any kind of health issue while others don't believe you. It's the worst.

A friend of mine is a paramedic and he told a story about a 16 year old girl who was having stomach problems and called 911. My friend then also had to deal with the hysterical Mom who got furious when the question about possible pregnancy came up because "she's 16, what do you think?!?!"
They sent the Mom out of the room and asked again and then the girl said that she might be pregnant but she didn't know for certain. In the end, the stomach problems were caused by the commencing birth and 5 minutes later the baby was there. (The girl was so obese that you really couldn't tell)

She's so positive after everything that she went through, so glad the baby is ok!
