Why are my eyes itchy and red? The most common reason for your eyes being itchy and red and dry is something like pollen coming from a tree, a grass, or a weed. When that pollen or something gets in your eyes, it irritates your tissue and your body releases histamine, which causes your eyes to get red, itchy, and dry. If that's happening a lot, you can go see an allergist, especially if it's happening seasonally. You can use allergy eye drops or even allergy treatment like immunotherapy to try to fix it.

The other common cause is that your eyes are just dry, so along the lid of your eye are these things called meibomian glands and unfortunately sometimes they can disfunction.
