Used to make homade root beer with sassafras tree root( you can use the green branches too) with my grandpa. Just got a soda stream and it just dawned me that I could bring back that memory but I don’t remember the recipe. It was very complex I remember that much it was a 100 year old recipe out of my great great grandmas cook book. Wasn’t event carbonated back then. But the flavor was very unique, I’ll have to ask my mom and my aunt if they have the book.
