What a fantastic trio. Did you ever think why Elvin chose Joe Farrell, he had some huge shoes to fill playing in this trio. Joe was magnificent. Lost at such a young age. Bravo.

Yes in deed, My favorite Elvin Jones Trio! Joe Farrell blowing his Tenor sax with what look's like a hard rubber Otto Link M/P and a MK6 Tenor. He was a remarkable player and his "doubles" were excellent as well. He sounds like he spent time shedding on classical studies. If you have not heard the album "Puttin' it Together" The New Elvin Jones Trio on Blue Note, check it out! Also, Farrell plays beautifully on Chick Correa's "Tones for Jone's Bones" on the Vortex Label.
