What sucks, still, in context of combat vests is two things.
1. They are not setup to be used while prone. This makes it harder to reload while prone and when crawling your ammo pouches functions like plows against you.
2. While prone your plates do not "work" and you have no armor on your shoulders. Get shot there while prone and the bullet might travel through your whole body and all vital organs in one sweep. Sure, you might be standing when the first shots are fired, but if you are in the open, wont you go prone after people start shooting at you...
