honestly one of my favorite things about reading comics, especially webcomics, is seeing the evolution of art style over time. the more stark the difference the more fun it is to read through and see how the style shifts subtly over the months and years

Not a webcomic but watching the art improve when reading Beastars was actually pretty fun! It was nice to see how the art evolved as the story was told.

I always thought of redrawing old pages more as a celebration (like maybe some sort of an anniversary) or just to compare how your style has improved/changed. I'm surprised how many artists fall into the trap of basically remastering they're comic when they're still working on it.

This is a reson why I prefer sketching lots of time the characters so Im used to it and can draw them in the same style

fun fact, trying to redraw old pages killed the comic tails gets trolled, which feels odd to say, but a comic with that name and premise did in fact have a substantial run with enough popularity that some fans took the creators unused script and continued it with their blessing, ironically something they'd not have to do if the creator didn't try and re-do the whole series (ironic because the continuation actually did have much better art)

Currently reading a webcpmic where the author is completely redrawing everything and I love it. While I know this sounds like a comic killer [especially as they were nearly done] I think it was the right idea :)

I remember reading a webcomic that I really liked, then more than 50 chapters through it, the creator decided to redo it from beginning, making so many changes to the plot and sequence of events, it somewhat killed the impact of the story for me.

A perhaps unspeaken rule is. Dont write your frienss ocs in either. That results ib rewritting and rrdrawing the story if you have a major falling out. Yes ive had to do it countless times. I dont write my major stories with characters that arent mine anymore.
But i am guitly of going back andrestarting

I think if you feel like you want to redraw the first page out of fun, then that's ok! One redrawn page is just alright as long as you enjoy the process & result

As a reader not a writer, there was a webtoon I really liked that just… kept redoing the earlier pages over and over instead of continuing the story. After the fifth time before chapter 6 (literally) I just gave up and unsubscribed

As a fan of the mp100 series, manga included. Trust me, the story and layout will carry a story. Dont beat yourselves up over an ugly pannel.
