In movies, choppers will always crash behind a hill. There is a special spot behind hills and pilots know how to exactly steer an otherwise uncontrollable chopper to that spot.

The Thing was home free here. All it had to do was stay put. Sit down and shut up. I take issue with this scene, respectfully. Story-wise it makes no sense for the villain to do this. We know the creature is not dumb.

Wait. I was supposed to believe that calm,.quiet room was supposed to be inside a helicopter?

MEW is such an underrated actress. I can see her as Amy Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter.

In helicopter training they always teach them "if you're gonna crash, go down behind a hill".

This is the scene when you realize that these people messed with something, and are now in way, way out of their depth.

I think if fire kills it, it should not have done that to have the helicopter crash & burn.

The cgi just doesnt stand up to the practical effects of the john carpenter version.

The cgi ruins it for me, it's too cartoonish, the thing from 1982 is hands down the best, they actually built the creatures transformations and body horror making it look so horrifyingly disgusting, it was awesome.

This scene reminds me of Aliens. The part where Ripley and the Marines were waiting for the rescue, when all the sudden the pilot and crew had already been attacked by the Alien onboard.

I think the reason people like the CGI less than the practical effects of the first movie have to do with how quickly the transformations happen.

The deleted scene of the original creature in the spaceship should be awesome

The face splitting would be a good necromorph if Dead Space is in live action

That face split is epic movie piece

Is that Mary Elizabeth Winstead? My sister was her stand in for Quarry and said she is so nice, would always say thank you as they switched from B team to A team, that she was super humble and barely had to wear any makeup haha I'll feel silly if this isn't her though

choppers should always, ALWAYS steer clear of hills. ANY kind of hill.

I’m not going to lie I actually really like this prequel. Especially how the Ending completely connects with the beginning of the 1982 Thing

Not nearly as scary as the practical effects of the 1982 version I saw when I was a kid.

Sometimes I still used to listen The Thing ambience to sleep. It's so relaxing.
