I never check the edges. I just dump the roll out into a coin log and flick through them really by just fanning them out one by one looking for old busts (pre 1980) for the 69 large dates, and then the silvers are always a suprise. I usually dont see them until I'm 2 or 3 coins away from it. Actually the 68-69 nickel bust is different than the 70-79 but only slightly. The 80s are much easiet to tell by the OBV.

I found that dime last year. I don't find much Canadian silver, but when I do, it's usually in Dime form.
