Explanation : In 1991, an Evergreen International Boeing 747-100 (N475EV) flying from New York to Tokyo experienced a malfunction and briefly reached supersonic speeds during an emergency descent. While the exact speed was never confirmed, reports suggest it reached Mach 1.25, or roughly 950 miles per hour at sea level. The NTSB report confirmed the aircraft reached Mach 0.98.

That’s cargo, not airliner💀, and no, it definitely didn’t go all the way to Mach 1. Concorde still stands tall for the only airliner to go Mach 2.30> and is the only aircraft as of right now to be supersonic
