Linemen have necessary, but horrifying jobs. My friend is a fully-industrial oil field electrician. A job like his makes wire nuts from residential power lines seem like child's play (still very, very dangerous). Dealing with heavy-conduit, thhn, and armored cable is a day-to-day thing. He saw accidents where multiple people were offed by one person's mistake.
