Baking soda is known to remove smells from upholstery and carpets. Maybe you can try that?.just sprinkle it all I've the interior, leave it overnight and vacuum the next day. Worth a try.

Sprinkle with baking soda and leave out and open for several days for the smell. Use glue for any separated pieces as that is what they used.

There is a vinegar and water solution that works wonders on all surfaces! Just look up a water and vinegar solution spray and it will give you precise measurements.

Yes all suitcases during that time was made with cardboard it was cheaper❤❤❤❤. U may not be able to remove the smell try putting it in trash bag with dryer sheets and spray with Febreze or u might use box of baking soda then put inn a freezer in trash bag.

You can use carpet cleaner solution an hot water...with a rag, let it dry completely. Buy these odor absorbing wood balls and leave them inside. Over time it will get rid of the smell. I use them in my traveling luggage when I store them away for the season.

You can also add clean, new cat sand for a time, like a week. It absorbs the smells.
It also works with cloths that smell of old or moth balls

It’s from the 60s I used to have a small version of that one and the colour was pink. It also had a mirror at the back of the case where you say there’s toothpaste it might be glue from the mirror.

Persistence works best. There is a finite amount of whatever causes the odour and eventually, all your strategies will gain the upper hand. More baking soda and vinegar? Sunlight? Steam cleaning because steam does not drench, but still disinfects and deodorizes. There is a video on YouTube about whitening and disinfecting an heirloom bridal gown. They did an amazing job.

pull the fabric all out, get some new fabric and some thin cardboard or foam from a craft store and glue it in. it might not be the prettiest but it’ll smell better and put your mind at ease that there is no more germs!

Stuff it with baking soda and wadded up newspaper for 3 or 4 weeks.

I would add a bowl of coffee, grounds, vinegar, or baking soda and set that inside the suitcase for a few days and see if one of those would absorb the smell.

Maybe put coffee grounds in some tights and put them in there over night ❤

Fill it with baking soda two or three boxes close it up shake it up real good and let it sit and then after about 2 weeks vacuum it out and repeat if there's still any stinkiness and I guarantee you it will go away forever
