I think part 2 it's quite a tragic story, denji only wanted a normal life with nayuta but others think different both the devil and devil hunters backstabbing him and force him to become a devil/devil hunter and the plot still continues and it is slow for a weekly series, but csm are not a battle shonen like jjk in the first place where battle come first instead of plot.

I kinda feel this, still love CSM (Fujimoto being my favorite writer in jump rn) itās clear from the weekly fatigue and him losing a lot of his previous editors Things are getting more difficult. But the quality of the story hasnāt suffered. Itās just slower and missing his older flair but itās still a great read

I also feel like the writing style is becoming redundant: by trying to constantly subvert the audience's expectations, the series is becoming rather dull and predictable (not really regarding the plot, but rather the narration) as nothing can be taken at face value because it's always gonna be turned into a situation/character comedy or dark humour which imo weakens the characters and their arcs, waters down the impact of what happens in the story, and honestly isn't even that funny since it's always the same formula (plus, it's frustrating since it doesn't leave the space to make the characters more grounded and endearing - because tbh I wouldn't really give a shit if any of the new characters introduced would happen to die except for Asa and Nayuta). I feel like the balance and contrast between pathos and comedy was better executed in the first part, which made the funny moments funnier and the hard-hitting moments hitting harder - and overall made it more memorable. But again, I'll wait until the end of the part rereading it in one go to really make up my mind because I don't feel like CSM works well in a semi-weekly reading experience

I recently binged the series for the first time and i thought the chainsaw man church arc was definitely the best. The plot is so complex and has so many different pieces that get worked into the story in so many unique but natural ways. The character work for denji, nayuta and sone of the side characters is also great. I don't think any other arc was as unpredictable as this one.
