Old enough to vote. Old enough to join the military. Old enough to be cut off.

EVERY parent should act like you on this matter.

Seeing how I paid my way in college, I was really annoyed when lectures were interrupted by protesters, so much so I transferred to another university where no lecture was interrupted by protesters.

I would never have dreamed of wasting my own time or my dadā€™s money pissing off in college. I also wouldnā€™t have dreamed of embarrassing myself or my dad by acting like a toddler in an adult body.

When my children and then grandchildren talked about college, I told them one thing: I am NOT going to fund "liberal arts" degrees. I will only help pay for technical degrees, for which they are more likely employable.

During the Iran hostage crisis my brother was in college and my parents told him NOT to participate in the anti-Iran demonstrations occurring on campus. He told them he wasn't going anywhere near it. The next night my whole family saw him on the news at the demonstration. That was his last week in school, and then he joined the Coast Guatd. You ALWAYS get caught when you do stupid things.

My mother gave me the same kind of ā€œadviceā€, lecture while watching the Berkeley riots on television. Needless to say I didnā€™t go to the riots because even though we didnā€™t always see things the same way my mother was one of the smartest people I have ever met, only second to my father.

The parents of the students at these colleges and universities are finally getting the real world look at what is going on. Not every student is involved in the demonstrations but for those who are? It's VERY EXPENSIVE to put 1 individual through any higher education institution. And then for the parents to think their children are involved in that insanity. I would withdraw every penny I ever earned for his/her education.

I agree. Iā€™d also not be paying $90,000 next year for continuing education. I would recommend Community College next year or student would be paying future tuition.

I told mine she should go to community college for the first two years. It is rural and free so there is no time for foolishness from the staff. Just learning. Then she can head to a state university and finish up. The more expensive and/or ivy league the more troubled the employee. My employer has stayed away from these grads because they don't provide any value.

My dad was pretty liberal with me, when I got my drivers license Dad gave me one rule. "Don't you ever call me from jail". That was enough to make me always stop and think.

Where do you think they got the idea to do this? The college professors.
