I didn't think there way any way this could work because I'm used to everything I have in my house being put together poorly. So I discovered that door has no bottom seal, and I wouldn't have if it weren't for this video.
Pulling the striker out worked incredibly well though, even if it is as a nearly 90° angle now.

some ventilation won't hurt unless you live in a extremely cold area... in fact, you shouldn't seal all airflow in your house, you need some air coming from the exterior always, but most especially in winter! so I really don't bother about doors leaking air... but for you guys in the north, yes
