Let's talk about gear. I have a TON of gear review on my queue, and will get to it as soon as I can (but realistically, I'd rather put my race movie out first, followed by tip videos). So in the meantime, let me say a couple of things about what I used at diagonale des fous, and how it turned out.

• Shoes: La Sportiva - Prodigio @lasportivana #lasportiva - First time using them for 100 miles. Good grip, it was a good choice given how technical it was. Also fairly breathable which was good when hot. HOWEVER, I should have planned better and have change of shoes and socks. With the rain and 53hrs race, it messed up my feet. The shoe were tighter / narrower than I'd want (I'll go +0.5 in the future) but honestly, my feet problem were definitely my own making - the shoe themselves were solid.

• Watch: Coros Vertix 2S - #TrainWithCOROS @COROSglobal - Always happy with this. 53 hours and didn't even need to worry about battery. Navigation was easy with the watch - no complaints

• Waist Bottles: UltrAspire Speedgoat 3.0 #Inspiredbyathletes @ultraspire. I had 1L total in my vest, but needed extra capacity so used this waist belt. I like the fit. That's my go to also when it's hot. Good to try it first - for me it's a GREAT fit with no bouncing, but that will depend on your body shape. It just feels so good to not have a vest sometimes (not applicable here at diag, but more broadly). Feels lighter, your back breath more. I'm a big fan and that's what I did at Javelina.

• Fueling: Tailwind Endurance Mix #tailwindnutrition @tailwindnutrition - The only unfortunate part was that I only had 2 dropbag. The race didn't provide electrolyte or fueling drink. I wish I had known and carry more tailwind - it's particularly helpful when hot and in need of salt. I like that they have so many flavors to avoid pallet fatigue

• Headlamp: HM65R-T V2.0 @fenixlighting @fenixlight #fenixlight - I changed the battery only once for 3 nights of running. The BOA band very helpful to adjust and avoid it being too tight or loose.
