Foreign Ministry invites ambassadors for foreign policy briefing

Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday briefed the diplomatic corps and international organisations on the Thai-Cambodian border situation, outlining Thailand’s position and approach during the government’s four-month term.

According to Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information and ministry spokesperson, 99 representatives from 67 countries, including foreign ambassadors to Thailand, attended the session led by Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow.

The briefing highlighted Thailand’s foreign policy direction and its stance on global issues, including the border row with Cambodia, the ministry said.

The ministry said that Thailand was committed to presenting facts without distortion and pursuing peace through bilateral mechanisms.

Sihasak recently led a Thai delegation to the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York, where Thailand presented its vision on the border issue to the international community.
