Maybe because created files (recordings, consolidations) can't be moved into project folders on saving if they're playing.

Ever since 21, I only been saving as a zip. Had an issue when 21 dropped where it was locating the wrong files being that Iâm always consolidating and it will just pick any âPattern 1â file. So I donât save tracks that way you showed anymore and it doesnât cut the music too

lets put it this you way u can´t save a doc while you writing right?. it´s like you´re saving new settings the set up or the program needs to be restarted so that your new settings take effect.on FL you don´t need to restart it but it needs to stop any processes to save whats needed. simple like that. but I´lI bet one day they´ll solve it.

From a software developer perspective; if they allowed this in the past and also allowed for reopening projects with them automatically playing (saved state semantics) then they might have neutered this ability to actually try and fix something else. Which probably was people complaining that saved projects would ear blast them after opening. The fix being, just pause then save that state instead. Itâs kind of a lazy fix if this is the case though. A live state and a saved state can be separated but the abstraction in doing so needs to be done very carefully to not cause inconsistencies.
