Probably because the gospels, and the Bible in general, aren’t reliable sources. It’s like reading the lord of the rings series and being confused as to why people don’t believe in Sauron. It’s because those are fictional stories with fictional characters. If you have actual evidence, then show it and if we’re convinced, we’ll accept it. And if we’re not convinced, we’ll tell you why. Or at least that’s how it should be. Also the gospels and Bible contradict each other and reality all the time so it’s even less reliable, to the point where a lot of us are comfortable saying that it’s just fictional.

I've read the entire bible, including the gospels. They are one of the main reasnos not to believe in this silly nonsense since they can't even agree with each other. I do wonder, why did the anonymous authors not notice the dead jews wandering around like the author of matthew did? Why did the author of john forget the whole weeping thing in gesthemane? What hapened in the garden by the supposed tomb?
What we have is a set of books, never meant to be together, and the contradictions they have. They certainly aren't convincing, with the claims of a flat earth, the claims of this jesus character wandering around with a literal roman legion's worth of guys following him in roman occupied Palestine that no one noticed, etc.
the gospels are claims, not evidence. You need evidence to suport the claims from the bible. You have none.

You needn't know anything of Xianity to be justified in believing there are no gods. Many gods have come before and now reside in the graveyard of gods, and all inveterate hiders! Also, scores of physical phenomena once attributed to gods have been found to have better, natural explanations. Never has a natural explanation ceded to a supernatural one. And if you read and understand the gospels, you will see how the Matthew and Luke authors copied heavily from the Mark gospel but changed or left out what they didn't like. That's plagiarism, not inspiration.

there is not any evidence for god. why would I read your bible? have you read other holy books? if not you havent consedered all the evidence that other gods could be true.

ya know i ask so many people what evidence they have to show my rainbow giraffe friend lisa the giraffe ISNT real and they keep telling me that "my evidence isnt convincing" and so in response i tell them about this book filled with totally real stories from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of mine from a few thousand years ago with it having been totally accuratly copied by the people who preserved these stories with no errors to speak of that can be DIRECTLY seen as errors on a base level!!! nope! no errors here!!!
