Love the final line that Kenichi uses when the fight is almost over "All fighters know that to study the martial arts... one must always begin with the art of imitation." I can't help but laugh along with the other masters at his imitation of Master Akisami though it is almost spot on.

I watched this series as a kid and while I was watching I was actually truly training with all the styles of the masters and still train to this day

I come back here every once in a while because I just need a damn good helping of happy crying watching the best scene I've ever seen in an anime.

This show is what brought my love for martial arts back and keeps me going to the goal becoming a master. Shame this show ended too soon.

Just got to say the dub not only nailed this the subtle changes in the script from the sub heightened this. So in the sub during the part where it shows Kenichi's harsh training the elder says something like "You remember these scary lessons even though you didn't want to I'm sorry Kenichi." (Not actually but close to the line) But here in the dub they put emphasis on hard his training was but he still learned it well and did his best. Not to mention his line imitating Akisame was great.
Honestly this dub doesn’t get enough recognition because subtle changes like that elevate it on a true relatable martial artist level.
