I used to run in Seoul after work. They had "yellow rain" from the Gobi Desert. Mixed in was a fine mix of discarded nuclear tests, heavy metals, etc. Ah, the good old days.

Yep, just spent 2.5 hrs with the high pressure hose to get if off the boat again. Only good part is, that after the rain the visibility is much better 😀

Red rain? I never, ever want to hear that phrase again ! My house in Andalusia was deluged a couple of years ago, and together with a sparkly white village was turned a terracotta colour overnight - some still is - and the mud was two inches deep on my terrace. It took six hours to clear ....... My boat in Palma used to catch it sometimes, but I will put a spell on anyone who mentions it now ..... Best of luck with the new command Tristan.

The worst I’ve seen was surprising given the location — Staniel Cay in the Exumas. And it was summer. And it came in from the west. Rivers of iron-filled Sahara sand. Not so bad if you’ve got a non-porous, relatively new paint job. But if it’s flat and chalky it’s a nightmare.

We get red rain in Germany on occasion if the winds are right.

No Red Rain in Norway :) but during May and early June every thing turns yellow with Pollen, so our vessel has to get a proper hosedown every day
