Only difference I'm noticing is FPS being cut basically in half

I can totally see the difference, 120 FPS vs 40 FPS!

Instead of pushing Ray Tracing I think Nvidia should take a step back to 2011 and revive the PhysX/GameWorks project. Remember Batman Arkham Knight had realistic smoke? I feel like that should be standard by now.

In the remake is generally no difference, in RE village on the other hand it ads a lot. After watching videos of village with RTX on and off I thought there is no difference but when you play it for yourself it looks so much more believable and the atmosphere is better with RTX on.

Even the fire and explosion look practically the same in both even though that's where the difference is supposed to be the most noticable

The devs did really good with this game seeing normal mode runs close to Ray traced mode .

There is a huge difference, with ray tracing you can have huge fps drop. 🀣

i only like ray tracing in games with bad/unrealistic lighting, like half life 1 or minecraft, big games like these already have a realistic fake lighting, so the difference is basically unnoticeable

I watched botj very carefully, and I can confirm in both versions she still really wants it.

I play this one on Series S and at the beginning i always left RT off to keep the 60 frames stable, but when i played with Ada i just couldn't play without being distracted all the time with those horrible bugs that the standard lighting has on the textures, especially around characters and reflections. It was weird at first, but then I got used to it and now i can't play without RT anymore lol, probably the only game i'll keep it on all the time.

Better example is to show how TERRIBLE the screen space reflections look (because they're horribly implemented) and how good it looks with RT. The reason i turn RT on in RE2 is because it fixes the horrifically bad SSR implementation in RE2. That's the biggest reason to play with RT on.

With raytracing, a better contrast is added to the general lighting and better quality shadows, as well as shadow effects where there were none before, for example, the room where the shotgun is, errors of excessive reflections or that should not be there are also corrected.

Some "AAA" game developers are starting to rely on ray tracing and frame generation features instead of making a good rasterized lighting and optimizing the game to fully utilize the hardware.

There are no rays. Rt is visible when u have a lot sources of light.

Can’t tell the difference.
