My hair had to be perfect -- no frizz, no messy buns, and meticulously parted. As a result, I was not allowed to do my own hair.
Another one was that I was not allowed to wear jeans unless I was wearing a blouse or a nice blazer. I had to wear a skirt or slacks (no cackys. Mom hated those.) My mom would look me over before we walked out the door and she would spend another hour fixing me if my appearance wasn't perfect.
