While on the road my wife never walked anywhere without me at her side. I always carried protection regardless of where we were. You cannot depend on anyone but yourselves for your own safety. Get a concealed weapons permit and the training to use it if you havenโt already. The states that donโt allow guns you avoid or at least donโt stop there. Btw
When out of rig the dog was our deterrent. Whatever it takes.
Itโs hardcore crazy out there these days so take whatever steps necessary to remain safe.

If traveling without our airstream and we stop at the state rest stops along the highway, hubs always walks with me to the restroom and waits immediately outside of ladies room (in case their are front and back doors-cars and truck entrances) - some people think he's "controlling" until I remind them he's been a truck driver for 40+ years and seen alot of crazy shit out there-he's doing it for our safety! Not to watch my every move but 4 eyes are better at watching than 2!

Karen, I call it my spider sense. First and foremost put the damn phone away. Have you head held high. Be vigilant of your surroundings.
We teach this in a program called "Refuse to be a Victim". Also never leave home naked. If you are licensed to carry your CCW carry it. If not carry something else to defend yourself with.
