Here in the Czech Republic, I see two breeds who seem to be trendy and which I consider worst for newcomers: border collies (usually bought by young families who want a nice looing dog for the city flat š¤·āāļøš«£) and Wolf hybrids (often young couples here in Prague who think they are just extremely beautiful (which they ar,e) but have no idea how difficult they are to educate. Those are two different types of desasters waiting to happen.

I adopted an Akbash and this little (80lb so far) guy is a handful. He is extremely independent. Iāve owned and raised two Great Pyrenees, so Iām not a novice to LGDs. This pup battled me over the crate to the point I was worried about his teeth being damaged. He wanted no part of being contained. Heās not aggressive towards people or small animalsā¦heās actually gentle with them. Heās not gentle with our doors or carpets, or the planks on our deckš¢. I love him but wish he was a little less independent.

THANK YOU for specifying WORKING LINE. People called me insane when I got a Belgian Malinois as my first dog but he's NOT a working line, and quite chill. Yeah he still has higher exercise needs over say a French Bulldog, but he's more about the mental workout than anything.
