We are not ready for ichigo's true bankai it's so op that we didn't even get the chance to see it in full display in the manga but I'm positive we'll see it in the anime

Ichigo probably only ever spammed Bankai to keep up with enemies in terms of both speed and strength most characters he fought after soul society arc were much faster than him in shikai like grimmjow and ulquiorra

2 reasons I think ichigo is yet to use bankai in the anime 1 is that he just got his new powers and he can’t fully tell the own scale of his power so he doesn’t want to go bankai and fail and 2 when he goes bankai in the manga one of his swords is white won’t spoiler why that is I’m sure some people know and so I’m guessing that is also a prerequisite

Last time he used bankai it was broken and he had to go on a spiritual journey to have it fixed. I'd be nervous about using it too. In addition he didn't need it to fight the quincy king until the Almighty activated, at which point he is trying to process just how broken that ability is.

I personally think Ichigo hasn't dropped Bankai because of overall character growth. Bankai was always a crutch for him, same with his Hollow mask. But now I think he's at a point where he's comfortable with his own personal strength to where he doesn't feel that he needs to solely rely on either of the forms. It's much more in line with the rest of the Soul Reapers who can use Bankai, themselves. They only ever use it out of necessity, instead of out of impulse like Ichigo would. It also symbolizes Ichigo's growth into a much more patient fighter.

His bankai I supposed to be a big reveal. But also the reason he was in almost constant bankai during the aarancar and fake karkura town arc was because he was facing super high-level threats that he couldn't face in his shikai he didn't have a choice but to remain in his bankai because those arcs happened to back-to-back. And we know know that his bankai was just the small portion of his power old man zangetsu couldnt seal.

Honestly we haven’t seen ichigo go full strength a single time yet, when ichigo walks into the thrown room and you can SEE his spiritual pressure, that’s when we see him at full strength, people have been downplaying how strong he’s actually gotten but mf has not gone all out at all, he was trying against ywach but he didn’t go full strength. Also mf did not lose to uryu, he didn’t try to hurt him a single time during the fight I don’t know how people think ichigo who was able to dog walk base ywach who is 100% stronger than uryu , lost to uryu while “trying”.

If Ichigos goes True Bankai is game over at this point. That's why Yhwach broke it, he knew he would've been done if he would've gotten hit by it. As far as I understood, Ichigo's True Bankai has fate manipulation powers

My theory is that ichigo needs to use his horn of salvation form before activating his bankai otherwise i don't think his body can handle it especially since his true powers are new to him
